Personalised, in-person nutritional consultations
For some situations, nothing beats a hands-on approach. Our in-person nutrition consultations offer a truly personalised service - we assess your horse, pony, or donkey with fresh, expert eyes, alongside a thorough review of your facilities and management routines. Together, we’ll discuss challenges, set feeding priorities, and create a plan tailored to their unique needs.
Consultations are ideal for complex cases, whether your horse isn’t thriving despite trying various feeds, your donkey has ongoing health concerns, or your pony gains weight despite your best efforts. We work collaboratively, incorporating advice from your vet, farrier, or coach to ensure an holistic, animal-centred approach.
What’s included:
- A dedicated 60-90 minute one-to-one visit to assess your animal and discuss your goals and challenges
- A detailed consultation report with bespoke, practical recommendations tailored to your situation
- One follow-up 30-minute phone or video call (to be used within 6 months) to monitor progress and adjust advice as needed
Individual consultation cost: £285 + travel (£0.45/mile or cost of alternative transport)
Multi-animal consultations: These are ideal for professional yards and studs, private owners of more than one horse, pony, or donkey, and livery yards where a group of individual owners want to share travel costs.
How it works:
- Share details: Complete the consultation form, providing contact details, number of animals and selecting a preferred day of the week.
- Consultation quote: This is based on the location of the consultation and associated travel costs, and the number of animals to be reviewed. A total consultation cost will be quoted.
- Arrange consultation: If you are happy with the quote we arrange a consultation date and time that works for you.
- Payment: Invoice issued for the total consultation cost with payment due 7 days before the consultation date.
- Consultation day: Please have animals close at hand to maximise the time available to assess them, review facilities and management setup, and discuss any issues. Please also ensure there is somewhere suitable to complete the assessment (dry, safe area, free from obstacles), and someone competent in handling the animal(s) is available.
- Receive report: You will receive your report within 10 working days, unless further information is needed from allied-professionals in your animals care team (e.g vet, farrier, physiotherapist).
- Follow-up session: Check in session can be scheduled at a time and date convenient to you. The standard timescale is 3 months post-consultation, although this is flexible according to requirements.
Consultations include assessment of the animals condition, fat stores, weight (using a weigh tape), current diet, and feeding and management routine.
